‘Playboy: The Celebrities’ Unveiled

Playboy and Chronicle Books have released “Playboy: The Celebrities,” a pictorial collection of the magazine’s greatest celebrity photo shoots.

To pull the collection together, Gary Cole, Playboy’s director of photography for the past 30 years, said he had to mine the archives for the best star pictorials. In the end, Cole came up with 150 photographs.

“It is a powerful combination, celebrity and naked skin,” said Playboy founder and Editor in Chief, Hugh M. Hefner, in his Introduction.

Included in the collection are nude photos of supermodels Naomi Campbell and Rachel Hunter, actresses Jayne Mansfield and Linda Evans, along with noteworthy Playmates such as Jenny McCarthy and Anna Nicole Smith. All of the models were captured by renowned photographers such as Herb Ritts, Steven Wayda and David LaChapelle.

“Playboy: The Celebrities” is available at bookstores.
