5th Element will give away an all-expenses-paid trip to Bangkok, Thailand, to one lucky consumer who buys the July 17 release, Asian Suck Dolls.
5th Element is using an O-card sleeve that slips over the DVD to advertise the promotion. The winner must insert the DVD into a player in order to claim the prize. Once the winning DVD is played, a notification will appear on the screen with a phone number to call.
“It is a one week, all-expense trip to Thailand with paid airfare and hotel accommodations,” said sales manager James Melendy, noting the hotel is a “five-star” establishment.
Tony Porno, owner of Ghost Pro Productions which produced Asian Suck Dolls, will be in Bangkok to meet and greet the individual and show the person around the country. According to contest rules, distributors, retailers and online store employees are not eligible to win; the recipient of the trip must be a consumer. However, consumers may purchase the DVD through an online DVD store.
The individual has to claim the prize by Dec. 31, 2006, and has until July 17, 2007 to actually use the prize, Melendy added.
“Tony came up with the idea," he said. "We were thinking what can we do to create summer sales, and we decided to give something back to the consumer.”
