PALMDALE, Calif. – 3 Vision Entertainment has signed on to produce the popular sex education program, “The Dr. Susan Block Show.” Block is a renowned sex educator, best-selling author, award winning documentary filmmaker and a familiar face on HBO’s late-night lineup through her “Radio Sex TV” and segments on “Real Sex.”
For years, Block has produced her radio and TV shows at the studio she calls Dr. Suzy’s Speakeasy, webcasting live around the world. “It is truly an amazing show,” said 3 Vision Entertainment’s CEO Allan Smith told AVN. “People come from all over and line up at the door to be first in line just to see the show live and maybe have the chance to meet the ‘Love Doctor.’
"I've always really admired what Susan has done with her career. She asked to do some lighting work on her show. After seeing the whole set, we let Susan know that we could really amp the production value of the show up...basically take it up to the mainstream cable level, and then ultimately DVD."
In the past, Block used an all volunteer crew for her web broadcasts and public access show, but Smith didn’t feel it was the professional quality necessary for today’s commercial TV market.
“Three Vision has enhanced the lighting and sound and added cameras for a three-camera shoot that captures all of the erotic excitement of ‘The Dr. Susan Block Show,’” explained Smith. “From the electric opening, to cavorting with the stars on the Show Bed, to engaging sex talk with guests and callers, to the swinging after-parties that take the speakeasy experience to a climax unlike any seen on television.”
Dr. Block is a graduate of Yale University, a sex therapist in private practice and director of the Dr. Susan Block Institute located in a 17,000 square foot facility in downtown Los Angeles.
According to Smith, 3 Vision has completed three shows. The series will have 13 episodes produced in the first season, including “Vintage Dr. Suzy Shows” featuring Tera Patrick, Dita Von Tease and Seymore Butts, and a live interview with Bettie Page. More recent episodes have featured Jessica Jaymes, Rachel Roxx and “Clown Porn Couple” Daisy Lane and Dick Chibbles, as well as several other fresh faces.
The main outlet for the show will be cable and Pay-Per-View. Scott Webb, who also produced “Beverly Hills MILF Sluts,” directs the series.
“Once this series gets rolling, we will also be in production on a line of sex help videos starring Dr. Susan Block,” said Smith.
