RESEDA, Calif.—Girlfriends Films received the XRCO (X-Rated Critics Organization) award for Best Girl/Girl Series for its acclaimed Women Seeking Women series. 2011 is the second year in a row it earned the coveted honor. Coupled with its four consecutive AVN awards as the Best All-Girl Series, Women Seeking Women is the most awarded adult lesbian series ever.
The X-Rated Critics Organization (XRCO) was founded in 1984 to give writers and editors from the adult entertainment industry a voice in selecting the yearly best in X-rated movies. The purpose was to award works of excellence, recognizing specifically the unique qualities of sexually explicit films.
"Straight and lesbian adult viewers alike enjoy and appreciate the overall feeling, seduction, plots and non-rushed content of the girl/girl releases from Girlfriend Films," noted XRCO co-chair Bob Krotts. "This was apparent at the recent 27th annual XRCO Awards Show, where their popular flagship series Women Seeking Women walked away for the second year in a row with a much-deserved award."
"Girlfriends seems to have a lock on the Best Girl-Girl series award, and that's hardly surprising," agreed XRCO Chairman Emeritus Jared Rutter. "They produce the real thing when it comes to lesbian drama, and critics as well as fans appreciate it."
Girlfriends Films Vice President Moose reacted to the news with gratitude and not a little pride.
