2Much.net PR Gets Real Simple

Video chat site 2much.net, creators of LiveCamNetwork 1.9, announced that they have turned to RSS (Real Simple Syndication) to centralize their public relations efforts. RSS is a way to view headlines without having to download the entire piece.

"This way you, or an editor or news source, can have 20 headlines, with one-line descriptions, where there used to be an entire article," said Greg Jones, in charge of Media and Communications at 2much.net.

"When I first hard about RSS, I was convinced it could not only expose us to more people, but drive traffic back to the sites concerned," Jones explained. "You can add links, but it's like getting e-mail from a newspaper: lots of e-mail, reduced to a headline and maybe one descriptive line, but on the subjects of your choice. How do you choose? Market, advertise, promote, just like a site or any aspect of business.

"Now, instead of auto-submitting, which can be inappropriate, or manually submitting to the appropriate markets, most of the job is done via RSS."

At present, only iNternetSexNetwork.com is providing the RSS feed, "and that's mostly for our adult video chat clients," Jones said. "But one feed is all you need."

Like iSN, the sites involved will feature an icon or button with a link users click to view or subscribe to the channel. While an RSS Reader such as NewsGator or SharpReader will allow these feeds to be read, MyYahoo! users and Googlers can also read and subscribe directly through their browsers.

"Right now I've designed a site just for news content," Jones said of iSN. "It's designed to help our new sites get a little exposure, but especially to disseminate the news of 2much.net."
