2257ware.com has released 2257MAVIS Version 1.3. MAVIS, short for Model Age Verification and Identification System, is a Windows-based software application that helps keep adult content producers compliant with recently published 18 USC §2257 regulations.
The release of MAVIS 1.3 provides for the use of the newly released SCAT (Server Content Analysis Tool) to make 2257 compliance efforts “easier than falling off a log,” according to a company statement.
The SCAT module, available at a specially reduced introductory price of $350, adds speed to record-keeping efforts. Designed for websites of any size, the SCAT Wizard walks users through the steps required to completely import entire websites into MAVIS.
The SCAT module allows users to FTP into their servers to retrieve files and associate models with content during the seven-part import process.
MAVIS is now in a position to spider Web servers using the SCAT module and import content records in a matter of hours or, in some cases (such as for smaller websites), in minutes. As an example, Arika from ArikaAmes.com was able to complete the entire process in under an hour. She has six models and approximately 40,000 pieces of content. SCAT was run on her server, and the output files were imported into and associated with the models as entered by her. The import process took roughly 30 minutes from start to finish, and she now has all the information required by the regulations completely searchable with the click of a mouse. All the information generated is stored on her desktop computer, not on a distant server.
MAVIS was reviewed recently by a prominent adult industry attorney who said, in part, "It is my opinion that the MAVIS software meets all the record-keeping requirements of the 2257 regulations, as effective June 23, 2005. The software meets or exceeds all requirements necessary for an investigator to conduct a thorough and comprehensive 2257 compliance examination."
MAVIS costs $50 for the base version. The SCAT module is $350. Respectively, after August 8th, 2005 the prices will be $99 for MAVIS and $599 for the SCAT module.
