For the past seven years, Sandra Shine has made a name for herself in the adult industries in both Europe and the U.S. She has become a favorite of both directors and fans worldwide, and has been called "a perfect 10" by photographers. Stacia Braver: Can you tell me a little about your childhood?
Sandra Shine: I had a normal childhood. I grew up with my mom and my elder brother. My parents divorced when I was 3. I did really well in school, and I was in a swim club for nine years throughout school. I always had a lot of friends and I was kind of popular in school.
How did you get started in the adult industry?
Well, I did fashion for two years from the age of 16. When I turned 18, I felt like fashion was not enough for me, so I took a job offer for artistic nude photography. I loved it and slowly got more involved with it. I've been in the business for seven years now.
Are there differences in the adult industries of Europe and the U.S.?
There are small differences—like the American girls act more, and the Europeans are more natural on film. But, I guess that shows on the film, as well. And, maybe Americans are more proud of what they are doing than the Europeans. I think it is more expected to be in porn in the U.S., but that has changed a lot in the past few years.
How important is it to you to make public appearances and meet your fans?
I actually love what I am doing and I like to meet my fans, as well. I never had any bad experiences meeting my fans. They are all very nice, and I get a kind of support and verification that they like me and they like what I am doing. It's very good to experience.
Right now, you only work with girls. Would you consider working with men in the future?
I'm not planning on it at the moment, but anything could happen. I always do what I feel like doing.

I started to run my site in October 2005. I handle the whole site by myself, so it is 100-percent me, indeed. It is about me and my girlfriends—but not the usual way. No, I don't think so. I like the U.S., but after a month, I'd miss home.

I chose Sandra after one of my girlfriends in elementary school, as we were really good friends. Shine? If you look at my tattoo, I have a sun-moon-star tattoo on my left shoulder, meaning sun equals Life, Moon equals emotions, and star equals success. They all shine and I like to shine.
What's the best thing about having fans?
That every time I sit down at my computer, I get such loveliness from them, and they cheer me up.
Can you name some girls in the industry whom you'd love to work with?
I was lucky to have some of the most beautiful ladies, but I still haven't been with Tera Patrick—that I would love—and Jenna Jameson, as well.
