SAN FRANCISCO—Pink and White Productions has unveiled the official slate of selections for the second annual San Francisco PornFilmFestival, broadcasting live November 11 - 28, 2021. Powered by the company’s streaming platform PinkLabel.TV, the festival returns once again as a virtual event, with VIP in-person cinema venue screenings to be added as COVID safety allows.
The call for submissions yielded over 200 entrees by moviemakers from over 20 countries including Brazil, Mexico, Taiwan, Japan, and locales throughout Europe, in addition to several productions by creators in the United States and within the San Francisco Bay area.
Widely represented are projects with formats and desires not often available on commercial porn sites, including documentary, animation and experimental genres, and stories depicting people with disabilities and older performers. Unsurprisingly, many of the selections address topics of lockdown and isolation amidst COVID-19. Despite a global pause in movie production due to COVID, over 70 percent of the festival's official selections were released in 2020 and 2021.
Pre-COVID selections include historic showcase titles such as Radley Metzger's 1974 bisexual classic Score and Arthur J. Bressan Jr.'s recently recovered 1979 film Forbidden Letters starring Richard Locke and Robert Adams. Selections from the '80s and '90s include the long-lost 1980 French gay erotic film Equation to an Unknown, Safe Is Desire from the landmark lesbian porn studio Fatale Media, and Box of Laughter by iconic fetish director Maria Beatty.
The festival's virtual platform launched in 2020 in response to the pandemic, with the aim to provide a safe and accessible option as festivals and venues around the world paused operations. Made possible in part to a successful crowdfunding campaign supported by sextech leaders, the festival's virtual platform has been utilized to host several fellow festivals such as PornFilmFestival Berlin, Seattle Erotic Cinema Festival and CineKink.
