2011 AVN Awards Expands Voting Pool

CHATSWORTH, Calif.—AVN Media Network has extended its voting pool for the 2011 AVN Awards to include esteemed movie critics and reviewers throughout the adult entertainment community.

While the awards have traditionally included select non-AVN staffers, this year’s pool is deeper and more experienced that ever before. The voting pool now includes more than 40 respected members, roughly divided evenly between in-house AVN editors, freelancers and outside critics.

“Our goal is to always bring the best, most qualified reviewers under our tent to vote for what really is the crown jewel of adult entertainment, the AVN Awards,” AVN founder Paul Fishbein said. “We’re honored to add such valued members of the adult community to our voting pool. Combined, they have decades of experience in the business and their participation only further validates our awards show as the biggest and best.”

Outside voters for the 2011 AVN Awards includes Xcitement Magazine’s Cindi Loftus, Genesis Magazine’s Dan Davis, RogReviews.com’s Roger Pipe, DrunkenStepfather.com’s Drunken Stepfather, Theresa “Darklady” Reed, former AVN editors Tod Hunter and Jared Rutter, XCritic.com’s Christopher Thorne, Dr. Jay and Don Houston, members of AdultDVDTalk.com and others.

In order to expedite the receipt of nominated movies to the expanded list of voters, AVN will confidentially supply companies with their shipping addresses in order for nominated product to be shipped directly to the reviewer after the noms are announced. This eliminates the extra time needed to send additional copies of the movies to AVN and then have them re-shipped to the voters.

This new shipping protocol ultimately streamlines the shipping process and gives each voter more time to screen nominated movies. Studios interested in obtaining a list of outside reviewers whom they can ship directly to should send an e-mail Fishbein at [email protected] to obtain the list.

The 28th annual AVN Awards Show takes place Jan. 8, 2011 inside the Pearl Concert Theater at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas. Digital Playground contract star Riley Steele and 2010 AVN Award winning Performer of the Year Tori Black have been tapped to co-host the gala awards show.
