2000Charge Opens Asian Marketplace to Online Merchants

Online payment processor 2000Charge announced that its clients could begin marketing their products and services to consumers in China for the first time.

The breakthrough comes as a result of a deal brokered between 2000Charge’s prepaid card EasyBuy and a Chinese distributor. Now Chinese consumers need only purchase a local EasyBuy card, which is available at more than 6,000 locations in China, and the funds can be used on any website connected to the 2000Charge system.

An anonymous payment option with no chargeback risk, EasyBuy was made available to 2000Charge merchants several months ago.

“This is a development with enormous global implications. China has a population in excess of 1 billion, and its economic outlook is staggering. We are pleased that our clients now have a foothold there,” says 2000Charge chief executive Wolf Kring. “Since anonymity is one of the key factors for the Chinese market, we are right on the spot with this product.”

Currently, the EasyBuy card can also be purchased with cash or credit at 5,000 locations in the U.S.
