Madrid - The 16th annual NINFA awards were handed out last night as part of the Barcelona International Erotic Film Festival held each year in Spain. The awards honor excellence in International and Spanish erotica. This year's gala was attended by approximately 350 adult industry members.
Italian director Mario Salieri and actor Roberto Malone were each honored with an award for Lifetime Achievement. Salieri, who began his esteemed career shooting amateurs for the Italian market, is the director of such noted Euro films as La Dulce Vita (2003), Dracula (1994), and Italian Inferno (1991). Malone, a staple in Salieri's productions, has starred in over 200 international adult films.
The evenings big winners included French director Hervé Bodilis, whose big budget feature Casino: No Limit (Marc Dorcel Productions) was named Best Film. At 21,000 Euros, the effects laden actioner holds the record for being the most expensive adult French production to date. Bodilis also received Best Lesbian Film honors for Extasy and capped the night with a nod for Best Director.
Evil Angel's Fashionistas Safado Berlin scored awards for Best Costume Design and Most Original Sex Scene for its twisted three-way starring Nacho Vidal, Melissa Lauren, and Katsuni. Angel alum Rocco Seffredi, meanwhile, took the award for Best 100% Sex Film for the hardedge effort Eskade: the Submission. Zero Tolerance director/performer Mick Blue won the award for Best Actor for his work in The Resolution (Razorback/Thagson), garnering his first major international honor.
In other categories, American auteur Dave Naz whipped the competition to secure a Best BDSM Film win for House of Sex & Domination (Private Media Group); Paul Thomas snagged a Best Script award for City Sex (Vivid Entertainment); and performers Nacho Vidal and Anastasia Mayo were celebrated with Fan Favorite awards for their prolific careers in adult.
