xHamster Releases 2019 Year-End Data Report

LOS ANGELES—xHamster has released it 2019 Year-End Data Report, and once again, we have “mom” to thank.

“We thank our moms, stepmoms, GILFs, MILFs and Daddys for another great year in search,”  said Alex Hawkins, Vice President of xHamster and founder of the xHamster Data Center.  “Of course, as we close the decade, what's most exciting is how much porn consumption has shifted to more realistic, more independently produced content. Viewers want authenticity. Ten years ago, global porn looked relatively monolithic, but as tens of thousands of performers and independent producers have come online, they've built up an ever more diverse user base.”

The MILFy search term was again No. 1 with viewers both in the U.S. and worldwide. Globally, the top video category for 2019 was “Japanese,” and in the U.S. it was “amateur.”

In 2019, the percentage of women watching adult content again rose, clocking in at nearly 29 percent. Globally, interest in porn for women rose 30 percent.

The top searched celebrity for the year was Baywatch star Alexandra Daddario, but percentage-wise, the xHamster Rising Star Award goes to former Bond girl Rosamund Pike who, despite turning 40 this year, saw the greatest year-over-year increase in interest of any major star.

“While we know porn data may seem funny and outrageous, it's one of the few ways we can understand our society's collective id,” Hawkins said. “At a time when there's so much silence about sex and sexuality, we want to encourage honest, fact-based conversations.”
