RedTube Launches Adult Greeting Card Shop

LOS ANGELES—The adult video sharing platform RedTube on Thursday announced the launch of ‘Speak From the Heart,’ a new adult greeting card shop available on its site.

RedTube users can now "give the gift of getting off" with cards suited for a variety of occasions, the company said.

“We are very excited to launch our official adult greeting card shop,” said Alex Taylor, vice president at RedTube. “Whether you are seeking a fun way to commemorate a wedding anniversary or birthday, or you just want to say ‘thank you’ to an intimate friend, RedTube’s ‘Speak From the Heart’ shop has the card to satisfy every occasion. Think of us as the sexy alternative to Hallmark.”

The online shop opens with 20 different cards marking different occasions and sentiments, including birthdays, graduations, anniversaries, holidays and messages of gratitude. Cards are available for purchase on redtubeshop.com, where they are also available in printable PDF.

“In an age of disappointing online dating apps, we all have that friend who has fallen on ‘hard’ times, or perhaps, you know someone with an 18th birthday around the corner; either way, you can now give them a lift with a perfectly matched RedTube card,” Taylor said. “At their core, greeting cards were made to make people smile, and we believe RedTube’s new selection will do just that…and a whole lot more.”

RedTube, which reports receiving more than 20 million visits to its site each day, sees the greeting card shop as an opportunity to tap into a new market.

The site, which is part of the PornHub network, is also sponsoring an amateur soccer team, Washington Square FC. The men's squad, made up of players ages 22-29, is based in Brookline, Mass., according to the Boston Globe.

The team said it aligned with RedTube last summer, but their deal received international exposure this week due to a story in the British tabloid, The Sun.

“We wanted to bring something cool to amateur soccer that would bring some attention to what we’re doing,” said Jon, the captain who asked that his last name not be used, told the Boston Globe. “We asked what would be a big name to bring some attention to our team, our league, because amateur soccer doesn’t get a lot of attention, especially over here in this country.”

The story said the sponsorhip came about after a player wrote a letter and posted it to the team’s Twitter page—and RedTube responded immediately.

Now the team plays with RedTube's SFW logo on the front of their jerseys.

Jon, who noted the sponsorship was more about offsetting expenses for the players than the nature of RedTube's business, said the team has received a global response.

“I have people that I’m shipping jerseys to in Malaysia, Australia, all over Europe,” Jon said. “What we’re doing is shining a light on something that people don’t pay attention to and that’s amateur soccer.”
