TEMPE, Ariz.—As the old saying goes, all good things must come to an end. And so it is, after 19 years, The Phoenix Forum has seen its final edition.
In an announcement posted to the popular trade show’s website, organizers explained that TPF, created in 2001 by CCBill as a way for the company to connect with current and future merchants, is no more.
“We designed and evolved The Phoenix Forum over the years, as a way to connect with those people that we love and care about in this crazy business we all support—those people that we call our ‘family’. Our focus has always remained on one goal: to promote business and connections for our family—our business community,” the announcement reads. “So, it is with mixed emotions that CCBill announces that we will not be producing The Phoenix Forum for 2020. The needs of the industry have changed, and with that, so must change the trade conferences which support the business.
“Just as the spirit of JoAnn and Frank Cadwell's hospitality has flourished with our Forum, the spirit of The Phoenix Forum will continue to live on within the people at CCBill, and within those friends in the industry that we are honored to call our family.”
TPF traditionally took place every March, always at the Tempe Mission Palms. In addition to presenting seminars, workshops and networking opportunities like most other trade shows, TPF was the host show to a number of parties and special events that have become legend through the years, including the Phoenix Forum Charity Golf Tournament, beer pong challenges, Texas Hold ‘Em Poker Tournaments and Lightspeed Dodgeball.
