LOS ANGELES —"Dr. McSteamy" of TV's Grey's Anatomy is even steamier in real life, it seems. A (not-quite) sex tape has been leaked online, featuring actor Eric Dane and his actress-model wife, Rebecca Gayheart, cavorting with onetime Miss Teen USA/Playboy model Kari Ann Peniche.
The adult gossip blog Gawker.com claims the 12-minute tape features the trio under the influence in Peniche’s apartment, rambling on about their potential "porn names," with Dane as "Tuff Hedemen." Meanwhile, Gayheart talks about being “so high” and needing to lay down.
Apparently self-filmed by the three participants, the tape shows the women shedding clothes and heading into a Jacuzzi while Dane takes over the camera. The video, released anonymously, appeared in part on Gawker with shots of Gayheart and Peniche topless.
TMZ.com reports that Dane and Gayheart will press charges against any website that runs the tape or any portion of it. They are represented by attorney Marty Singer.
"From what I've seen it's a naked tape, not a sex tape," Singer told TMZ. "At most, it's three people maybe wanting to have sex."
Through a source, Gawker claims that Peniche, a former Miss Teen USA who became a Playboy model, also worked as a Hollywood madam, though this has not been substantiated. Also, the Hollywood police vice squad allegedly obtained her list of clients, and the sex tape—which really doesn't show any true sex—made the rounds among Peniche's friends, though she has said she is not the one who leaked the tape.
Adult-industry insiders have commented that the release appears to be malicious and, so far, not for profit. The actual rights to the tape have yet to be determined, and Dane and Gayheart clearly appear ready to take anyone involved to court and hammer them hard.
Dane stars on ABCs Grey's Anatomy as Dr. Mark Sloan; Gayheart was a Noxema model and has appeared on various TV programs and in films; they married five years ago. Peniche will appear VH1's Sex Rehab With Dr. Drew this fall.
