AUCKLAND, New Zealand - Kiwi porn biz king Steve Crow wanted to hand over five grand to the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation but was turned down. Instead, he's now pledged money to an organization set up by a UFO Cult.
The money originally offered to NZBCF will instead go to Clitoraid, a U.S.-based organization established by UFO cult, the Raelian Movement, which claims to help women around the world suffering from genital mutilation, reports New Zealand's 3News.
Crow had said if 100 women took part in his next 'Boobs on Bikes' parade, scheduled for September, he would donate $5000 to NZBCF, and that an additional $2500 would be donated if 100 men also signed up. The pledge was withdrawn Wednesday after NZBCF emailed one of the parade's organizers asking them to turn down the offer.
According to NZBCF spokeswoman Jeanine Gribbin, the foundation seeks "to avoid events/projects that might be inappropriate or do not support our intentions, messages or have relevance to our stakeholders."
Crow said he was "gobsmacked" by the rejection.
"Is the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation so flush with cash that it does not need money to help New Zealand women combat and/or live with this horrible disease?" Crow said in a responding email. "If not, then who the hell are you to take a moral high-ground that could deny one or more New Zealand women a better life?"
Crow also fired back that the foundation has acccepted funds from SkyCity and the Lion Foundation, which are funded through "alcohol and gambling."
The $5,000 now will go to Clitoriad, though it's unknown if Crow was aware of the Raelian UFO cult connection when he made the new pledge.
Meanwhile, Crow has various legal troubles to deal with. July 15, New Zealand's Society for the Promotion of Community Standards filed 16 complaints against Crow with the Legal Team of the Companies Office and the National Enforcement Unit, pertaining to breaches of the Companies Act 1993. These alleged offences relate to his use on official documents of the company name—Eden Digital Lt—over a period of five years, before the entity was registered with the Companies Office
