LOS ANGELES—It turns out that newly launched GothGirlfriends.com in many ways was five years in the making.
Veteran director/performer Logan Xander made his adult industry debut for Bang Bros in 2019 as an editor and producer when he was 19. That was when he met Kill Chris, the co-creator of GothGirlfriends, which the duo unveiled on June 1st in partnership with Spizoo.com.
“We became somewhat of a powerhouse directing duo for Bang Bros and immediately clicked on our love for alternative and punk culture,” Xander says. “Since 2019 we always wanted to create something inspired by the alternative scene we both grew up with—something edgy and gritty and dark. We always had this idea in the back of our minds but wanted to grow in the industry a bit more and learn before taking that next step.”
Fast forward to November 2022.
“Chris and I were talking about our ideas and he came up with the name ‘Goth Girlfriends,’” Xander continues. “Everything clicked. It’s a pretty common phrase in internet & meme culture, ‘Where can I find a goth girlfriend?’ I thought it was perfect.
“I was surprised that the domain was actually available. I bought it that same night and then him and I started coming up with ideas for the site.”
Xander describes the content on GothGirlfriends as a “grungy/darker version of glam gonzo.”
“We showcase the girls in an artistic montage and really focus on conveying passion and pleasure,” Xander explains. “Our slogan is ‘Dark Passion, Hardcore Pleasure.’ With Chris and I both being video editors, I believe we’ve really been able to show off some creativity in the editing and art style for our content that’s a lot different from any other site.”
Logan says that he and Chris connected with Spizoo through MrLuckyPOV, who also works with the prolific network.
“He called me around June of 2023 and told me that Spizoo was interested in expanding their network and building a site around creators,” Xander says. “We already had the idea of Goth Girlfriends but were planning to do it independently. Once I heard this opportunity I decided to pitch the idea to them.
“We set up a meeting and they loved it and the rest is history. They’ve been extremely helpful and knowledgeable.”
Logan and Chris began working on Goth Girlfriends in July 2023, fine-tuning their look with special attention to detail with the set design along the way.
“We knew we wanted to create a gothic lounge-type of room,” Xander tells AVN. “Chris and I photoshopped a bunch of set-design ideas and spent about four months transforming one of the bedrooms in my girlfriend and I’s house into The Goth Girlfriend Room.
“We painted all the walls black, created a giant wall art sticker of our logo, and put together a ton of gothic room decor. My girlfriend, Valerica Steele, also spent months building our wardrobe and accessories for the talent, as well as doing makeup for most the girls and styling them for every scene.
“Our other makeup artist, Alex (Pissypeach) has been a huge help as well. Everything truly has been a group effort to bring this vision to life.”
The Goth Girlfriend lineup so far includes Angel Youngs, Jewelz Blu, Melissa Stratton, XWife Karen, Cassidy Luxe, Skylar Vox, Tigerlilly, Connie Perignon, Willow Ryder, Luna Luxe, Venus Vixen, Nika Venom and more.
Xander and Chris co-direct all the scenes, while Johnny Love has been the main male performer.
“He always gives an incredible performance and is amazing to work with,” Xander says. “Other male talents so far include myself, Zeus, Nade Nasty, Peter King, Brian Omally and Kai Jaxon.”
The site will be updated weekly to start and “ultimately hope to be able to release multiple a week.”
Xander calls the project “honestly, a dream come true as cheesy as it might sound.”
“I’ve wanted my own studio since my first month in this industry, and at 24 years old I was able to make it happen,” Logan says. “It’s been a lot of work. We wanted to create a site that showcases a sub culture that’s always shunned in mainstream porn. The goth and alternative look has always been frowned upon or ‘taboo’ when it comes to mainstream. We want alternative girls who feel like they never got the chance they deserve to be able to come on our set and our site, and feel like the superstar they are.
“We also want the girls who don’t typically have that ‘goth’ look and let them come on our set and transform into a whole different style that they’ve never done before.”
He says GothGirlfriends.com wouldn’t be possible without the efforts of their entire team.
“My co-creator and director Chris, my girlfriend Valerica, and all of the talent that trusted our vision and wanted to be part of this,” Logan adds. “We hope to create a site that’s truly special and stands out among the crowd, and also create a brand that becomes engraved into the alternative subculture, and expand into clothing and other avenues.”
