Kink.com's Marlowe Releases 'Crucible' Satire as Statement on Trump Election

SAN FRANCISCO—Kink.com director Maitresse Madeline Marlowe turns her latest production for the studio into a commentary on the recent election of Donald Trump to the U.S. presidency, in the form of sexual reinterpretation of Arthur Miller's 1953 play The Crucible entitled Crucible Gangbang.

Much like Miller's play served as an allegory about McCarthyism, Marlowe sees her version as a statement on the conservative hysteria surrounding adult material that Trump's forming administration promises to engender.

"Donald Trump says that he intends to bring back obscenity prosecutions and to shut down sexual speech," Marlowe said. "I've watched as he's appointed censors, homophobes and hatemongers to his cabinet and transition team. While porn may seem an unlikely place for politics, it's crucial that all of us use whatever platform we have to speak out."

Key figures Trump has recruited to his coterie thus far include former Attorney General Edwin Meese, who led the large-scale prosecutios of adult producers in the 1980s; Attorney General nominee Jeff Sessions, who has blamed porn for sexual assault; transition team head Ken Blackwell, who has called pornography a "plague" that should not be protected by the First Amendment; and former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani, who effectively banned adult businesses there during his reign.

"Facing such censorship and oppression, sex becomes a revolutionary act, and sexual speech a political imperative," Marlowe asserted. "Censorship is never about porn, it's about sexuality."

This isn't Marlowe's first protest against a conservative regime. In June, she directed the spoof Make America Gape Again, in which a gang of Trumps attacks America (personified by Ella Nova). In July, when the Republican party adopted a platform calling internet porn a "public health crisis," she worked with Kink.com to get every Republican delegate a pass to the site.

"Porn isn't sex ed, but it remains one of the most effective ways to understand the diverse spectrum of sexuality and gender," Marlowe said. "We like to think that what we do broadens minds, as well as appetites."
