Joanna Angel to Guest on 'Sex Profiteers'

LOS ANGELES—"Sex Profiteers," the Clubhouse chat showcasing intimate conversations on the business of selling sexy, announced it will host AVN Hall of Fame performer/director Joanna Angel on Wednesday.

"Sex Profiteers" was selected as a finalist for the platform’s inaugural “Creator First” accelerator program. The pilot show, featuring Angel, will compete amongst 60 other finalists for a chance to be featured into the Clubhouse sponsored program.

“It’s an honor to be named as a Creator First finalist," says Cyndi Pham, cohost of "Sex Profiteers." "This provides an incredible opportunity for us as an industry to have our voices heard on a platform outside of the adult space. Joanna is a powerhouse entrepreneur that basically wrote the handbook for crossover success and I think that listeners are going to gain a lot from her breadth of experience."

Angel made her start creating the BurningAngel.com brand in 2002 and is largely credited with popularizing and proving the financial viability of the alt-porn genre. She’ll be discussing how she launched and successfully exited BurningAngel.com and how she parlayed her success in the adult space to mainstream with multiple acting cameos, her Doom’s Whiskey line, and author of two books: Club 42 and Night Shift

“I’m excited to try out this platform," Angel says. "I’ve heard so much about it, and now thanks to 'Sex Profiteers', I’ll finally be able to try it out. I look forward to sharing all of my filthy little knowledge with everyone."

"Sex Profiteers" is a Clubhouse chat covering the business of sex, how it is marketed, consumed and monetized exclusively on the new drop-in audio social media app Clubhouse. The show is hosted by industry veterans and co-founders of boutique marketing firm Agency Bardo—Magalie Rheault, COO of Evil Angel, and Cyndi Pham, CEO of Dirty Hen.

“We are overjoyed with having Joanna as our guest!" says Rheault. "She’s the best possible person to have for our pilot show as we’ll be exposed to a lot of traffic. She has so much to share and talk about and I truly believe this is the type of content people on the app want to hear about."

The pilot show airs on Wednesday May 19, 2021 at 6 p.m. PST/9 p.m. EST. Fans will have the opportunity to ask Joanna questions and there will be free giveaways during the show.
