CHEYENNE, Wyo.—Popular clip site iWantClips is donating $3,000 toward hurricane relief efforts through the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund, Austin Pets Alive!, and Houston Area Women’s Center in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey in Texas and Louisiana.
“We are very saddened to hear of the catastrophic impact of Hurricane Harvey on Houston and nearby communities in Texas and Louisiana,” said iWantClips Vice President Jay Phillips. “We would like to demonstrate our support to those in need and those who are assisting them with this donation.”
Harvey, which made landfall on August 25 in Rockport, Texas, has dropped more than 52 inches of rain in the Houston metropolitan area, resulting in widespread flooding, countless water rescues and several deaths, according to published reports. The Category 4 hurricane is set to surpass 2008's Hurricane Ike and 2001's Tropical Storm Allison, two of the most destructive storms to hit the Gulf Coast in recent memory. Moreover, millions of people from Corpus Christi to New Orleans were under flood watches and warnings earlier this week as Harvey's storm bands pummeled the same areas.
“We are honored and humbled to be in a position to offer some small financial support to the organizations who are on the ground actively assisting those impacted by this tragedy,” Phillips added.
