NEW YORK CITY—Adult webcam platform ImLive.com has revealed the results, so far, of its newest worldwide initiative, “Get Wood, Give Wood.” As part of the initiative, ImLive offers "special vibes" which guests can acquire that send a vibration to the sex toy with which the cam model is performing. The special vibes first became available on September 16 and will remain active through the end of the month.
But perhaps the bigger news is, ImLive will donate a tree, through Tree-Nation, One Tree Planted and the Arbor Day Foundation, organizations that specialize in planting trees in the United States and the rest of the world, for every special vibe sent during the two weeks. Thus far, the initiative has raised funds to plant more than 18,000 trees and is projecting to be able to plant 30,000 trees by the end of September.
“ImLive as an organization has always been a big proponent of protecting the environment, and we couldn’t be happier to let the world know we’re tree huggers by planting some all over the world,” said Adrian Stoneman, VP of Business for ImLive. “As we move to make another wish come true for an ImLive user, we’re requesting that all of our hosts strive to make guests hard as oak and encourage them to send out some good vibes, all in the name of planting wood and making planet Earth a healthier place to be.”
This campaign originated in a request from an ImLive member as part of the ImLive “18th Birthday Wish-a-Thon," which is granting 18 wishes from the public to celebrate its 18 years in business. The member reached out to ImLive requesting that the company "Plant a tree for every time a model orgasms.”
Tree-Nation is the world's largest reforestation platform, allowing citizens and companies to plant trees all around the world. Since its inception in 2006, more than 130,000 users and 2,200 companies have planted 5 million trees using the platform. With Tree-Nation, anyone can plant a tree nearly anywhere in the world, including Argentina, Australia, Bolivia, Brazil, Burkina Faso, Colombia, France, India, Kenya, Madagascar, Nicaragua, Peru, Spain, Tanzania, Thailand and the United States.
One Tree Planted is an environmental charity dedicated to making it easier for individuals and businesses to give back to the environment and help reforestation efforts around the world by planting trees. The organization works with reforestations partners in North America, South America, Asia and Africa who help get trees in the ground to restore forests after fires and floods.
The Arbor Day Foundation was founded in 1972 and is the largest 501(c)3 nonprofit membership organization dedicated to planting trees. More than 1 million members, supporters and valued partners have aided in planting more than 350 million trees in neighborhoods, communities, cities and forests throughout the world to ensure a greener and healthier future for everyone.
ImLive’s 18th Birthday Wish-a-Thon has seen thousands of submissions across its website and on social media, and the team will be fulfilling all 18 accepted wishes throughout the end of the year. Some of the ImLive wishes that were selected by the company include helping one of ImLive’s guests pay for their dental surgery to give them a better smile, and covering the medical expenses for a user’s heart surgery. Most recently, the team has granted a user’s wish in helping an endangered species by donating 5 percent of proceeds from a weekend long party to the Denver Zoo, the North American home to the endangered scrotum frog of Lake Titicaca.
Over the past few months, ImLive made the news with the launch of several new campaigns. As the first wish granted of the 18th Birthday Wish-a-Thon, the site began offering free one-on-one sessions to new guests currently living in senior living facilities to help make their stays during the pandemic less lonely. In July, ImLive launched ImLive4TheBlind, services for blind and vision-impaired guests utilizing sports announcers to provide commentary for the action on-screen. ImLive employed veteran MMA and soccer announcer Sean Wheelock and others to use their skills that have been on the sidelines since the pandemic ended all live sports to provide enjoyment to the underserved blind community. Earlier in the summer, the company brought on leading adult entertainer Riley Reid to provide tips and demonstrations after the company released survey findings in May that revealed a decline in sexual activity among couples that quarantined together. In April, the company launched an anti-dating campaign in collaboration with celebrities to condemn coronavirus-spreading courtship. As part of that campaign, the company offered to give away up to $50M in credits for people to use on its site.
