HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. - Fetish-gear retailer eXtreme Restraints has increased its payout to 50 percent on two top-sellers to encourage affiliates to push those products.
The "bonus toys" are the Vibrating Honeypot and the Easy Access Restraint System. James Medina of NicheShops said this is a great way to encourage affiliates to promote the products, as product-specific advertisements tend to convert better than general store banners.
"I feel it's revolutionary," Medina said. "Where porn sites generally have a wide focus, a sex-toy store like ours can offer a thousand different products to focus promotional energy on, and product-specific promotion often coverts better for affiliates."
"So far as we know," he said, no other sex-toy store's affiliate program offers product-specific bonuses. He said eXtreme Restraints' 50-percent payout is a "huge increase" above the company's usual payout and that of most other sex-toy stores' affiliate programs.
