CamSoda Latches Onto Peleton Craze With Workout Bike ’O-Seat’

With the Peloton stationary exercise bike making headlines—and social media trends—this month due to a TV commercial that was widely criticized as “sexist and dystopian,” according to The New York Times, the always-enterprising CamSoda has come up with a new way to give yourself a pop culture-induced orgasm.

CamSoda now offers a bicycle seat—actually a bicycle seat cover—that comfortably fits the internet-linked Lovense Lush vibrator, allowing women working out on the Peloton or its competitor SoulCycle to get off while getting in shape.

Peloton released an advertisement shortly before Thanksgiving that was so broadly condemned that the company’s stock dropped by nine points as the online controversy reached its peak in early December, according to The Times.

The spot centered around woman who is given a Peloton for Christmas by her husband. But the actress portraying the overjoyed, Peloton-loving wife already appeared to be very much in shape.

“Many social media users criticized the commercial for being sexist and classist. A Peloton Bike retails for $2,245, and membership for the company’s signature interactive classes costs $39 a month,” The Times reported.

But the ad unquestionably created a new buzz around the Peloton, leading to CamSoda, which has previously marketed ways to use the Lovense vibrator in conjunction with the Kentucky Derby and the Super Bowl, to add to its offerings.

“Peloton is a now bonafide fitness phenomenon. SoulCycle has a cult-like following,” CamSoda Vice President Daryn Parker said in a statement posted to the company’s blog. “With millions of impassioned riders now taking cycling classes at cycling studios and/or via a smart bike at their home, we figured we’d provide them with some sexual pleasure while doing so.”

Notably, the brand names “Peloton” and “SoulCycle” are marked with asterisks on the CamSoda site, signifying that neither company endorses the new “O-Seat” marketed by CamSoda.

The company also said that it has offered the actress who plays the rail-thin “wife” in Peloton’s infamous “sexist, dystopian” commercial the position of spokesperson for the O-Seat.

While the Peloton bike itself may run buyers upwards of $2,200, the O-Seat retails for a mere $29.99. Vibrator not included.
