Burlesque Queen Dita Von Teese is Porn Surfer at Heart

LOS ANGELES - Dita Von Teese, the queen of modern burlesque revival, confesses to surfing porn sites and considers the hobby of voyeurism to be healthy. While she spends her free time on the Net, the estranged wife of rocker Marilyn Manson is finishing up a classy, sensual book that purports to teach women how to seduce their partners. It will include sex advice and erotic dance tips as well as a guide to sexy stripping and fetish dancing, she said.

She also has been cast as the lead character in the upcoming film The Boom Boom Room, in which she'll play a stripper. The film, inspired by the book by Lian Lunson, will be shot on country star Willie Nelson's ranch. (Tim Burton also is rumored to be developing a film based on the Von Teese-Manson breakup).

Von Teese, who proclaims herself the "Houdini of burlesque" because of the speed with which she removes her clothes, shared her views on porn recently. "Amateur pornography is a great thing," she said. "You can find something for everyone on the Internet. As long as no one's hurting anyone or involving children, then hey, what's wrong with that? People love watching people having sex. I'm no different."

It seems as if Von Teese fits right in with the adult industry. She has appeared on numerous adult magazine covers and in fetish films by Andrew Blake. She distributes her used underwear to fans as souvenirs. She also is a humanitarian, working as a makeup model for the MAC Cosmetics' Viva Glam ad campaign, from which all proceeds will be donated to HIV and AIDS programs.
