LAS VEGAS - Adult video-on-demand service Yappo.com has released its entire 48,000-movie database in the Silverlight format, Microsoft's Web-based media player designed to compete with Flash Media.
Silverlight opens up Yappo's entire movie database to Intel-based Mac users who have been previously unable to view the site's movies due to Microsoft's DRM restrictions.
Yappo.com Product Manager Liam Colins said the move to add Silverlight is all about giving consumers more viewing options.
"The decision to include Silverlight reflects our desire to give our users more choices in how they watch movies," he said. "We don't anticipate Silverlight becoming our most prominent media type, but more options can't hurt."
Yappo.com is among the fastest growing adult video-on-demand networks in operation today and recently announced the signing of their 1,000th production studio content partner, Penthouse Digital.
