World’s First Social Media Site for Sex Information Launches

Northstar Productions has announced the launch of SiN2.0, which the company describes as the world's first social media site dedicated to sex information. The site, which was unveiled at Internext 2007, aims to revolutionize how people find information about sex.

SiN2.0's creators said the site compares to Digg, YouTube and MySpace, in terms of news discovery, video content and social networking, respectively. The site allows users, or "SINNERS," to find and add content to their personal profiles, browse user-submitted articles, connect with friends through a "Black Book," recommend content and engage in discussions through content posts.

"Everyone is curious about sex, from the health sector to the adult-entertainment industry veteran, but getting these very diverse groups of individuals together in the same room is impossible," said Jason B. Hart, president of Northstar Productions. "SiN2.0 does something that has never been done before by creating a place for those people to learn from each other in virtual conversations, giving them a place to share information with like-minded communities."

SiN2.0 offers its community four main features:

Social Networking - Each article on SiN2.0 has an indicator showing what other users think of it. SINNERS can engage in discussions about the subjects that interest them.

Community Contribution - SINNERS can share information related to their interests and those of like-minded users.

Content Discovery - SiN2.0 aims to make it easy for users to find the information they want, since content recommendations come from their friends or colleagues.

Friendly Competition - SINNERS compete to post the most relevant news, according to the community's vote. Contributions to the community - such as news posts, comments or votes - earn points, or Sins, which are tracked on the SCOREboard. SiN2.0 will also run special promotions for the biggest SINNERS.

"We know this is a useful service and a potentially extremely powerful tool," said Gabriel Carrejo, vice president of Northstar Productions. "We're very excited about the seemingly endless opportunities SiN2.0 can provide to both information consumers, business owners and anyone in between."
