LAS VEGAS - The top 60-plus titles produced by Cal-Vista during the 1970s and 1980s will be available at the video-on-demand site VCX.com beginning at 5 p.m. PDT on Friday.
VCX.com will feature Cal-Vista titles such as Nothing to Hide (an adaptation of John Steinbeck's Of Mice and Men) and Eruption (an adult homage to From Here to Eternity featuring Leslie Bovee and John Holmes).
"We've encoded the videos in three different bandwidth sizes," VCX.com President David Sutton said. "There will be something for anyone with an Internet connection. The highest-resolution videos look spectacular on a high-speed connection, and all three sizes can be either streamed or downloaded."
The company also said it plans to release more Cal-Vista titles on DVD in early July.
"We're also going to incorporate several other streaming technologies onto the VCX.com portal over the next several months, [including] DivX download-to-burn, as well as a new proprietary codec that works very similar to Flash, called Evotum. We'll not only be adding the great Cal-Vista classic lineup in these formats, but the entire VCX classic library, as well. It's going to be a very busy time, and we're very excited going forward."
