Trenchcoatx.com Rolls Out New User Preference Features

BROOKLYN, N.Y.—Stoya and Kayden Kross co-owned website Trenchcoatx.com broadens the ways in which users may choose from its offerings with a host of new features including expanded purchasing options and hide/highlight tools.

The site now furnishes a shopping cart that allows for multiple individual purchases in a signle transaction, and for those interested in simply buying memberships, there are two subscription levels now available. In addition, new "Squick Protection" and "Squee Enhancement" tools gives users the ability to hide what they don't like and highlight what they do.

"We had so many users who were purchasing every video that we offered that it only seemed fair to offer membership pricing. Also, they were directly asking for it. That was maybe our first clue," Kross said. "And for the users who don't want the commitment of a monthly membership but were a little encumbered by the individual video purchases, we've upgraded our cart to allow for multiple purchases at a time."

Regarding the Squick Protection/Squee Enhancement features, Stoya commented, "It's pretty obvious that sexuality is a specific and highly individual thing. These features enable users of our site to tailor their own experiences to a level that demographic studies would never be able to accommodate, and put the exploration back in looking for porn."

Trenchcoatx also added pre-checkout registration, returned trailers to the site and installed a more functional newsletter as part of the update. The site was launched March 3 as an a la carte platfrom to deliver videos hand selected by its owners on a scene by scene basis.
