CHICAGO—Last week, Playboy unveiled its official iPhone application, available on iTunes App Store for $1.99. A scaled-down version of the world famous brand’s iconic lifestyle magazine, the app includes text from such well-known features as the Playboy Interview, Playboy Advisor, 20 Questions, Party Jokes, Fashion and more.
Conforming to iPhone standards, the Playboy app will feature non-nude photos. “The pictures are all non-nude or cropped, either from the magazine pictorial or from the Playmate’s Playboy.com pictorial.” Playboy spokesperson Theresa Hennessey told Krapps.com. “The Playboy app is priced at $1.99 and, until the next update, will include both the November and December issues. Future issues will be available via in-app purchase at $1.99 each. For those users who missed any of the past issues, they will also be available via in-app purchase at $1.99 per month.”
In addition to the aforementioned content, the application also will include the Playmate’s intro, data sheet, preview pictures and exclusive behind the scenes preview video, according to Krapps.
