BANGKOK, Thailand - A Canadian teacher suspected of sexually abusing young boys in a series of photographs posted on the Internet was arrested Friday in Thailand, police said.
Police apprehended Christopher Paul Neil, 32, after an arrest warrant was issued based on a Thai teenage boy's statement that Neil molested him. Interpol reported that Neil appears in 200 images of child sex abuse, including photos of him with 12 boys in Vietnam and Cambodia.
Prior to his arrest, Neil was working as an English-language teacher in South Korea. He reportedly flew to Bangkok on Oct. 11.
On Oct. 8, Interpol asked the global public for help in identifying Neil, having exhausted all other means to find the man, Secretary General Ronald K. Noble said. The agency received more than 300 responses, including five that named Neil.
