Tera Patrick, Evan Seinfeld Featured in New RTA Public Service Announcement

LOS ANGELES - The Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection has released a new public service announcement featuring Teravision President and multi-award winning adult actress Tera Patrick along with her husband, musician and actor Evan Seinfeld, for the Restricted to Adults website label.

The RTA public service announcement, available for viewing on YouTube, features Patrick and Seinfeld discussing the RTA website label and encouraging parents to use parental filtering software in order to protect children from viewing age-inappropriate content.

"Internet service providers, browsers, filtering software, and even computer operating systems such as Microsoft's Vista offer parental control options," ASACP CEO Joan Irvine said. "For those systems to work, websites intended for ‘adults only' need to be labeled as such. RTA makes that possible."

The video is the third in an ongoing series of public service announcements produced by the ASACP featuring different adult entertainment stars. Previous announcements featured Wicked Pictures contract performer, writer and director Stormy Daniels.

"Evan and I believe in making the Web a safer place for children and we are doing our part as industry professionals," Patrick said. "We truly believe our message in the public service announcement. It is not for appearances, but we take it to heart. Certain sects of our society and our government have the adult industry under a microscope using it as a scapegoat for all things unholy. We have a social responsibility to keep adult entertainment ‘restricted to adults.' We are so honored to have been approached by ASACP, and to be included in such an important message. Stormy Daniels is not only one of my peers, but a friend and I am proud to stand alongside her, in the name of something as important as the RTA label. If we don't police ourselves, someone else will."

Plans are being made to make ASACP's public service announcement series available in formats that can be used on cable networks and on DVDs.

The adult entertainment industry is doing their part Irvine explained. "We are thrilled that Tera and Evan have volunteered their time in order to remind other parents to do their part by utilizing parental filtering options."

RTA has been honored by the American Society of Association Executives and The Center for Association Leadership, Washington, DC.  Additionally ASACP has received Certificates of Recognition from Congresswoman Jane Harmon and the Mayors of Los Angeles, San Diego, Redondo Beach, and West Hollywood acknowledging ASACP's efforts to help parents prevent their children from viewing age-inappropriate content with the RTA website label.

RTA is the adult entertainment industry's initiative to protect children from viewing content that is age-inappropriate.  It was developed by ASACP out of a need for an easy to use and internationally recognized label that designates content for adults only. Parental filtering software recognizes the tag and prevents children from viewing adult content. The RTA label is free and universally available. ASACP launched RTA in November 2006 and it now has nearly 5 million page link-ins.
