Online affiliate giant Silvercash has partnered with Pure Play Media to launch Silver Sinema, a premium DVD label specializing in high-definition adult content.
"For 2007, one of our big initiatives was to expand our business into the DVD market," Silvercash Albert, the company's vice president, told AVN.com. "We now film all of our exclusive content in HD. We felt [hi-def] was the way of the future and though the online side is still catching up to HD, in the DVD market it's certainly alive and well. Arguably, we are in the top three online affiliate programs in world, and with over 85 sites, we have enough content to put out DVDs in a declining market."
The new DVD line marks Silvercash's first business venture outside of the internet realm. Silvercash Albert described the company's big push into the DVD market as "a natural convergence," and with Pure Play behind the new line insiders are predicting big profits.
"The Silvercash brand has a great following – and we know that at the end of the day, that converts to sales for sure," said Pure Play Media CEO Richard Arnold. "We met up with them at the AVN show in January, and they told us they were interested in coming out with a DVD line. We recognize that it's a very good company to be associated with, and so we pursued it."
Silvercash Albert characterizes Silver Sinema's product as "a mix between glamour and gonzo – it's all exclusive content, specializing in reality, ethnic, and gay titles. We're also going to offer some of the hardcore niches: the pregnant, BBW, transsexual genres. That's something that will really accentuate the Pure Play portfolio."
Arnold told AVN.com that Pure Play intends to emphasize the high-definition aspect of Silver Sinema in selling the line. While Arnold is cautious about HD DVD and Blu-Ray, recalling the failure of laserdisc and other home entertainment technologies, he considers the production quality of Silver Sinema as a key to the line's future success.
"We don't want to just throw a bunch of product out there," Arnold said. "We want to do it in a well thought-out pattern. I like to take an approach where the market accepts the concept – the product is almost proven before it hits the street, because it's proven on the internet. Scores was an internet company; when we took them on, they had never released a product other than mail order, magazine and internet business...they were one of the first. We've also done well with Naughty America and Hundies. We won't just take any line that walks through the door; there has to be com that distinguishes one line from the other – with Silvercash coming in, we want to keep the brand intact and then market through the brand strengths. Silver Sinema, is offering some things we don't have; some of the hardcore niches, some TS content, and a limited amount of gay content. But our angle on this thing is really about the HD aspect."
According to Silvercash Albert, the label will not simply be recycling porn already seen on the Net. While the label's product does correspond to the company's profitable websites, much of the DVD content will be new to viewers. "We want to keep it as fresh as possible," he said. "The online clientele is different from DVD buyers – a lot of the content has not been in any of our member's areas."
The first wave of Silver Sinema titles is scheduled for Spring 2007 release. Teenage Whores and Simple Fucks will arrive in May, followed by Lucky Lesbians in June. Other upcoming Silver Sinema DVD series include Suck Me Bitch, Tempting Tranny, Slutty Squirters, Her First Anal, Sex Toy Teens, Pimp for A Day, Anal Hell, Sugar Mamas, Just Legal Babes and Ebony Addiction.
