WASHINGTON, D.C.—A recently scheduled hearing was held this morning by the U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation on the planned rollout of new top-level domains by the International Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers. The committee is chaired by John D. (Jay) Rockefeller IV (D-WV).
Witnesses included Kurt Pritz Senior Vice President, Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers; Fiona Alexander, Associate Administrator, Office of International Affairs, National Telecommunications and Information Administration
U.S. Department of Commerce; Dan Jaffe, Executive Vice President, Government Relations, Association of National Advertisers, Coalition for Responsible Internet Domain Oversight; Esther Dyson, founding Chairman of ICANN; and Angela F. Williams, Senior Vice President and General Counsel, Young Men’s Christian Association of the United States of America.
