MORRISTOWN, N.J. - Retired Morris County undersheriff John Kinnecom, 57, was sentenced last week to 150 hours of community service and five years probation by Superior court Judge Thomas V. Manahan.
The judge called Kinnecom a "bully" for posting sexually explicit pictures of a female on the Internet and harassing another victim.
"You have sentenced two innocent victims to a life of constant embarrassment,'' Judge Manahan told Kinnecom. "That was cruel.'"
The Morris Plains native pled guilty in June to invasion of privacy and harassment.
Despite letters to Manahan from both women proclaiming the defendant posted pictures of them on adult sites, Kinnecom admitted only to sending harassing emails to the second victim.
One woman fears for her reputation because some of the images cannot be taken down from the pornography sites.
"He is a sick, evil and disgusting pervert," she wrote. "There is no end in sight."
The other woman reportedly requires ongoing therapy.
Kinnecom claims a compulsion forced him to perpetrate the crimes. However, during a mental health evaluation Morris County Assistant Prosecutor Melanie Smith said Kinnecom showed no empathy for his victims.
According to the New Jersey Star-Ledger, Manahan said that if he could, he would order Kinnecom not to have a computer in his home, and urged him to voluntarily get rid of his computer.
Additionally, Kinnecom was ordered to pay $1,750 in fines and penalties, and to continue getting mental health counseling.
"You need help, sir," Manahan said.
