Evotum, a new technology-based company that delivers high-quality live streaming video, is on the rise and counts Wicked, K-Beech, VCX, Pulpo and SexZ among its clients. And the company can count Jeff Snyder, general manager of K-Beech, among its fans.
"From the moment I was introduced to the Evotum media platform, I immediately realized that the platform will elevate the K-Beech brand's [video-on-demand] consumer experience to a level that is leaps and bounds ahead of the rest," Snyder said. "The proprietary software allows me to manage all of my video content and has a top-rated DRM in place. At last, I am in control of my online presence and know that I can manage multiple sub-sites and affiliate portals.
"The easy consumer-friendly embedded player into the website will showcase our content in full-screen. It will leave no footprint, allowing someone to watch what they want where they want, and no one will ever know! I am sure with all of this ... my end consumers will beg for more!"
Evotum was founded in January 2007 in New York and plans to open a Los Angeles office this month. Evotum has integrated its high-quality video into a video-on-demand platform that enables content owners to manage and distribute content easily and cost-effectively. The platform includes integrated DRM to protect the value of the content.
Senior Account Director Mara Epstein said Evotum spent the past year closely monitoring the evolution of the adult market. Based on its studies, the company established the goal of placing control back into content owners' hands. Evotum provides content owners full control, trackability and security. The company allows content producers to keep 100 percent of their revenue.
"The [VOD] platform makes it a lot easier for the content provider, who does not need to go through the hassle and expense of finding a developer," Epstein said. "We have developed the platform. We have built in all the functionality, so the tools are provided to grow the business, therefore making it more affordable because we have completed the development side and we will make it more attractive. What we want to do is allow content owners to develop high-value online business and have more control of their content and market."
Part of the process involves encoding, and Evotum provides encoders or does the encoding in-house.
"The viewer's experience is very rich due to its high quality," Epstein said. "Without giving our secrets away, I shall explain our magic sauce. What we are doing is leveraging more of the infrastructure of the PC or the Mac. We are using the graphics and the sound card, and rather than just rely upon the process to drive a player, we are using other components within the computer."
Other players on the Internet require dedicated server infrastructure, Epstein said.
Epstein said Evotum has gathered statistics for the past year and found that viewers watch clips longer on Evotum's player than on other players and come back more frequently.
"Not only do we offer our service on a PC and a Mac, we do not require the user to install a client before they watch it," she added. "The user goes to [the] Evotum [website] or any of our clients' sites, and we deliver the player into the browser for the user. The user does not have to worry about having the latest player. We do that for them."
Once a clip is viewed on Evotum's player, there is no content evidence left on the computer, Epstein said, adding that the player's high quality looks great on computer screens of any size.
Evotum also aims to please content providers.
"We want our providers to be able to tell their viewers that they can watch content when they want," Epstein said. "We stream through firewalls, so if the user is viewing content at work, they are able to get to it.
"Our VOD platform offers an out-of-the-box solution that combines the best-quality video delivery with a platform that provides a range of functionality to support small to large businesses. It is set up and designed to manage per-second, per-minute and per-title billing. You can also set up and manage multiple affiliate sites. So content owners can go through the process of encoding their library and set up the terms and conditions with the affiliates. It puts you in control of the shop, but through multiple affiliate sites."
