LOS ANGELES—Professional football player Chad Ochocinco (nee Chad Johnson) is no stranger to changing his name, and Pornhub.com is placing a $69,000 bet that the wide receiver is up for one more name change—at least for 24 hours.
Johnson, who was released today by the New England Patriots after a subpar season, might be in need of some extra cash given that he is, at least temporarily, unemployed. The tube site is asking Ochocinco to change his name to Chad Seisnueve on June 9 for 24 hours.
Ochocinco changed his name from Johnson in 2008 to represent the numbers on his jersey—85—while playing for the Cincinnati Bengals. He said in February that he would change his name back to Johnson before his impending marriage to Basketball Wives star Evelyn Lozada so she would not have to take Ochocinco as her last name.
Ochocinco has tweeted about Pornhub before. When asked why someone as rich and famous as himself doesn't drink or party, he responded, "Easy, pornhub and video game consoles are used in doors."
When further pressed, Ochocinco said that Pornhub was "A very interesting site, I get most of my creative ideas from there to keep HER guessing what's next."
In part, the letter from Pornhub's Corey Price reads:
"In short, we would like to extend a proposal for you to legally change your name to Chad Seisnueve on the day of June 9, 2012 for the subsequent 24 hours. As proof, all we require from you is a twitpic of the approved name change registration form accompanied by a @Pornhub hashtag mention. We believe that this partnership can be beneficial to both parties.
"In return for your cooperation and willingness, we will compensate you $69,000."
Ochocinco is taking his release from the reigning AFC champions in stride, changing the bio on his Twitter profile to read "Unemployed Black Guy."
He hasn't responded to Pornhub's offer as of post time.
