Porn Site MikeyAndMandy.com Supports the Arts

LONDON - Mikey and Mandy's Most Original Porn Emporium and its adult site MikeyAndMandy.com is supporting the arts by presenting the "Porn Saints" exhibition from Sept. 29 - Oct. 31 at the A&D Gallery in Lodon.

"To the artist Francesco D'Isa, who originated the phrase "pornsaints," it means exactly what it says: "...the pornsaint dwells in the house of the saints, but got there travelling a different way, and came in knocking at another door. If the saint, in a way, obtained the absolute by clambering up on God (any God), the pornsaint obtained it climbing over man," Mikey and Mandy explained.

This exhibition, part of an ongoing plan to support sophisticated erotic art and literature, features a unique group of artists who venture into the erotic and exotic without shame. Some of the artists are featured on the Mikey and Mandy site, but all are top-notch and globally recognized.

"This exhibition presents the work of an international group of contemporary artists who explore the possibility that porn stars may be "sanctified" by their performances," Mikey and Mandy said. "This year the group have had two critically acclaimed exhibitions, one in Philadelphia, the other in Berlin, and the A&D Gallery is delighted to present their work in Britain. Especially at a time when, due to the introduction of new censorship restrictions outlined by the Criminal Justice and Immigration Bill, we are once again being asked to define our attitude to pornography."

The exhibit will feature art by Arisu of Portugal, Sander Steins of The Netherlands, Ida Belogi and Francesco D'Isa of Italy, Nathalie Shau of Spain, and Joshua Bronaugh, Molly Crabapple, Katelan Foisy, Jonathan Edward Luczycki, Danny Malboeuf and Karen Preston, all of the U.S.

Mikey and Mandy plan to support similar exhibitions around the world that combine the worlds of porn and art.

The A&D Gallery is located at 51 Chiltern St., London, W1U 6LY.
