VENICE, Calif. - Damon Brown, a regular writer for Playboy, will celebrate the release of his latest book, "Porn & Pong: How Grand Theft Auto, Tomb Raider and Other Sexy Games Changed Our Culture," with a discussion and book-signing 8-10 p.m. Friday, Nov. 14, at couple-friendly sex shop Freddy & Eddy in Venice.
The store is located at 12613 Venice Blvd.
A former Long Beach and Orange County resident, Brown will discuss the origins of the "Porn & Pong" book, as well as share funny stories about his five years of research and answer questions about the writing process. He will also sign copies of the book, which will be sold for $15 each at the event.
CNN called the book, "A stimulating look at two of today's most controversial subjects ... Sure to amaze and titillate anyone who's ever hoisted a videogame controller."
Brown traditionally covers the topics of sex, music and technology, but he is first and foremost a pop culturist. A Northwestern grad, he regularly contributes to Playboy, SPIN, The New York Post and Family Circle, and has been on CNN, NPR, C-SPAN, G4TV and BBC World. He currently lives in San Francisco.
