Playboy Names Tom Hagopian VP

CHICAGO – Playboy Enterprises Inc. today announced the addition of Tom Hagopian to its senior management team in the role of division executive vice president and general manager for digital media.

Hagopian will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership, strategic development, and management of the company’s global online and mobile businesses. This position reports directly to Bob Meyers, executive vice president and president of media, and will be based in New York.

Hagopian, 48, has spent the majority of his career working in media, most recently with OpenTV Inc.,Gemstar – TV Guide International Inc., where he was president of TV Guide Online and chief operating officer of TV Guide Data Solutions. Prior to that, he was vice president of interactive products with Cablevision Systems Corporation and spent 10 years with ESPN where since 2003 he served as senior vice president and general manager of programming and advertising. His experience also includes working for Enterprises, where he served in several key capacities—including a stint as the initial general manager of ESPN.

A graduate of the University of Michigan with a bachelor’s in accounting, Hagopian also has an master’s degree in business from Columbia University in New York. He is a board member of the Interactive Television Association and a member of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.
