LONDON - Pay-per-call company Password By Phone has launched a trial-purchasing product that allows surfers to call a premium number to gain access to any website for a predetermined amount of time.
The product, which operates in 37 languages and has global billing reach, enables webmasters to offer surfers a sneak peek of their member's area for a duration they can define. Surfers can be up-sold monthly credit- and debit-card subscriptions in the usual way.
"Surfers will be delighted to have the opportunity of paying for trials this way," said Marc Jarrett of Password By Phone. "For them, it's quick and anonymous .... They need not part with any personal information, and in an era of increasing online fraud and identity theft, many credit-card holders would prefer not to pay for trials this way - even if they only cost a dollar."
Password By Phone also now offers a free global "over 18" page in 37 languages.
The warning page automatically appears in each surfer's own language, and includes links to all the major child-protection solutions and bears the labels of the Internet Content Rating Association (ICRA) and the Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection (ASACP). The page also includes a link to Sexaholics Anonymous.
"This page demonstrates that you are a webmaster that takes both the protection of children and longevity of the industry seriously," Jarrett said.
