OK Cupid: iPhone Users Have More Sexual Partners

MOBILESPACE—A survey of over 11 million opinions culled from users of the dating site OKCupid.com has found that iPhone users have sex more often than Blackberry or Android Smartphone users. While unscientific, the results are at least a peek into the self-evaluation of people who use these mobile devices.

The survey, the results of which have been posted on OKCupid’s blog, was initially designed to analyze trends in photography among users of the site. Somehow, a question about sex got mixed into the equation. The results, delineated by gender and type of phone, assess the average number of sexual partners by age 30.

Among men, Android studs racked up 6.0 partners; Blackberry bruisers nailed 8.1 and iPhone geeks plowed a mighty 10.0.

Across each of the devices, however, the women beat the men handily. Android babes bedded 6.1 partners; Blackberry chicks conquered 8.8 and iPhone geekettes claim a mighty 12.3 partners, putting iPhone males to shame. Shame!

Of course, some of these people could have gotten their mitts on an iPhone before January 2007, when they were first released. That presumably means that those who were hornier were more likely to use an iPhone, especially if they were women.

In a rational world, Steve Jobs would be interested in these results.
