OREM, UT—Purging those devilishly hard-to-find porn videos from your computer just got a little bit easier, thanks to SurfRecon, Inc., the people who brought you the enterprise, home and ERT (emergency response tool) versions of their porn detection software.
According to a recent press release, the newest release contains a digital video detection feature for the SurfRecon Home Edition software that allows a “parent or spouse” to quickly scan a home computer for pornographic digital videos and accurately categorize the files. It also enables FLV video files with the same Blur safety tool that has been available for reviewing static images.
The company says the video review feature also can be enabled to dissect a video by scene change or by individual frames in order to find pornographic content that may be hidden or obscured within an apparently clean file.
"Pornographic websites are flocking to digital video and .FLV files in particular," SurfRecon president Matthew Yarro said. "If a computer had nothing but pornographic video on it—and no sexually explicit images—someone checking the computer might think it was clean, when in fact it was not."
The Blur feature is intended to prevent the sort of permanent damage that looking at sexual activity has been proven to cause in the hyper-sensitive and pathologically intolerant.
“Including a similar Blur tool for video review was important to us, because if pornographic images can be harmful and addictive, you can only imagine what a pornographic video could do to your mental health,” said Yarro.
Despite a scientific or rational basis for any of its claims, the SurfRecon Home Edition pornography detection and deletion software has an MSRP of $39.95 for the DVD version and an MSRP of $49.95 for the USB thumb drive version.
