MySpace Sales VP Joins Glam Media

SAN FRANCISCO - Karin Marke will be heading the Western region sales department for women's Web property Glam Media, the company announced Friday. Marke previously served as vice president of sales for MySpace at Fox Interactive.

By recruiting Marke, Glam expects to surpass its current quota of reaching more than 19 million unique American visitors per month and 30 million unique visitors worldwide in a survey by comScore Media Metrix. The company stated it is doing this by making the move with Marke and also increasing its sales organization by hiring senior sales veterans from companies including AOL, Monster, IAC, Condenet, and more. Glam also will open eight international offices.

"We are thrilled to have a seasoned Internet and media veteran like Karin joining Glam to help brand advertisers who reach women through our unique display advertising platform," said Chief Revenue Officer Scott Schiller. "Her tenure at two of the Internet's leading companies - MySpace and Lycos - coupled with her Hearst experience, is the right blend of experience for our advertisers."

Glam Media's viewers browse content through the Glam Publisher Network of more than 350 websites, magazines, and blogs - as well as on its owned-and-operated websites.
