Mr. Skin Parent SK Intertainment Inc. Acquires Fleshbot

CYBERSPACE—SK Intertainment, the parent company behind internet powerhouses Mr. Skin, Mr. Man and Naked News, knows a thing or two about mixing mainstream and adult content. So it seems a happy turn of events that SK Intertainment has just announced the acquisition of the high-profile adult website Fleshbot.com.

Launched in 2003 by Gawker Media, Fleshbot has long been one of mainstream's top sources for news and reviews from the world of sex and adult entertainment. Fleshbot covers both the straight and gay scenes, making the site truly comprehensive. Over the past decade, the site has garnered attention for its smart take on sex, and has been profiled in such publications as Wired and the New Yorker.

"Fleshbot is a site we've followed for years and one that fits in nicely with our growth plan," said SK Intertainment COO Sam Rakowski. "We are excited to leverage our talent and resources to improve an already well-established product. Both readers and partners of the site can expect big improvements in the coming months."

Editor and publisher Lux Alptraum, who has owned Fleshbot since 2012, added, “After six years of working with Fleshbot, I’m excited to move on to new challenges. I know that SK Intertainment will take the site to brand-new heights, and I’m thrilled to be leaving it in such capable hands.”

Alptraum will continue with Fleshbot.com as a contributing editor, as well as offer her consulting services to adult and sex-related companies.

SK Intertainment was established in 1999 as the home for the film-review website MrSkin.com. As the owner and operator of a highly trafficked website, SK Intertainment has remained on the forefront of web technology, expanding its reach with MrMan.com, MrSkinCash.com, GoodPartsMedia.com and CNDB.com, as well as managing online business operations for NakedNews.com.
