CHICAGO -- Popular T&A website Mr.Skin.com has announced the winners of its 10th annual Anatomy Awards, saluting "skintastic" achievements in mainstream motion picture and television nudity.
"This is our 10th annual Anatomy Awards, and it's hard to believe," Mr. Skin told AVN Online. "It seems like only yesterday I was looking at my first nip-slip in a movie and it's amazing to me. We've been doing this for a decade, always piggy-backing the Oscars; they look at great achievement in motion pictures and we look at 'skin-chievement.' There are more categories, 35 in all, and this is only the second time I've revealed the runners-up. Though not in all categories; Best Nudity with a Toothbrush is not going to have a lot of nominees."
Katie Morgan won Mr. Skin's Best Porn Star Gone Hollywood award for her appearance in Zack and Miri Make a Porno, beating out Jenaveve Jolie in Entourage and Jenna Jameson in Zombie Strippers.
"I loved Katie Morgan in the film," Mr. Skin told AVN Online. "She was very funny, very naked."
Jameson made up for the loss by scoring the "Best Back-Burger" award for a fleeting rear view of her vagina in the Sony Pictures horror flick. Other big body-part winners included Asia Argento, who took the Best Boobs honor for The Last Mistress, and Anna Faris, who scored the Best Butt award for her full-moon exposure in The House Bunny.
The Lifetime Skinchievement Award went to acclaimed British actress Kate Winslet.
"Though only in her mid-30s, [Winslet] has already been naked in 10 films," Mr. Skin told AVN Online. "What I love is that when she's naked, it's not just a side brush shot or brief fleeting glimpses. It's full-on, 'I will stand in front of men nude on the set.' She's nominated for an Academy Award in The Reader, and she was very naked in that and that's pretty cool."
While Mr. Skin has observed a decrease in big-screen nudity over the past few years, he sees the cable TV market compensating for that trend. Actress Lizzy Caplan won the popular Best First-Time Nude Scene category for her appearance on the HBO vampire series True Blood.
"Quality mainstream nudity has dropped off, say 25 percent, but that's been more than made up for by a 75 percent jump in TV series nudity," he said. "It's thanks to all the great shows on HBO and other cable networks, shows like Entourage, The Tudors, Dexter and True Blood, which won Best TV Show for nudity. It's almost like the cable series have a competition going - 'Hey, we've got to put hot naked actresses into shows.' That, to me, is where we've really made great strides."
Despite the proliferation of hardcore porn, Mr. Skin believes the appeal and mystery of celebrity nudity will never go away.
"I've always said it's the familiarity; it's natural and human nature," he said. "Like the beautiful girl working in your office. Who would you rather see naked, her or an anonymous girl you've never met before? It's that way with celebrities; we see them in magazines, bring them into our home on TV. You feel like they're part of your life. And that's another reason it's so exciting to see celebrities nude."
