LOS ANGELES—In response to a request for comment by Kotako.com following a YouPorn blog post last week that extolled the virtues of finally being able to access porn on the Xbox 360, Microsoft is doing its best to deflect attention away from the porn-enabling aspect of the upcoming addition of Internet Explorer to its popular gaming console.
"To be clear," the company stated, "we are adding Internet Explorer to Xbox Live, not specific adult content providers like YouPorn or any other specific website content. Additionally, we give members and parents the option to turn this feature on or off for their accounts. Access to Internet Explorer for all Child accounts is blocked by default."
Well, there you go, parents, start your blockade! Your precious brood will be hereafter be unable to access any ... access any ... okay, we can't do it. We simply cannot lie to you. Truth is, you won't be able to keep them from accessing anything. They'll run circles around anything you try, and you know it.

In fact, if you're like a lot of households and have both the Xbox 360 and Sony's PS3 laying around, the addition of porn to the menu is nothing new. As the Escapist points out, the latter console already offers "an officially sanctioned porno service," courtesy of SugarDVD.
