SAN FRANCISCO—Morality in Media is taking Groupon to task for having twice this year provided discounts to tours of the San Francisco Armory provided by Kink.com, which purchased the building in 2006.
MiM is calling for a boycott of Groupon for selling "torture porn studio tours" for a porn company they say "specializes in the live filming of 'young sexy teens who are overwhelmed and outnumbered…who need to learn a lesson by multiple men;' of women being 'bound, whipped, objectified and humiliated. They are immobilized, caged and humiliated as objects;' of women 'suspended and tied in rope bondage…tormented beyond all reason;' and of women 'naked, tied up, bound, punished, exposed in public…who are taken to public bars for public sex and public humiliation…'"
So what's the problem??
I got it! MiM is upset because Groupon doesn't offer discounts to MiM, which is so broke it's reduced to posting redundant videos of executive director Dawn Hawkins trying to squeeze money out of people by recounting for the hundredth time her terrifying porn flight in February.
Of course, the call to boycott Groupon is itself just another money-making ploy by the extreme right wing anti-sex brigade. For its part, Groupon, which has a lot more to worry about than this pathetic call to arms, took the boycott in stride, replying "We thoroughly vet the businesses we feature…Fortunately, this business has proven to be a responsible member of their community."
In fact, Kink, which received a lot of negative press when it bought the Armory, has bent over backwards to create a mutually beneficial relationship with its local community. The fact remains, however, that it could have singlehandedly eliminated all homelessness in the city and it would not matter to MiM.
Nothing matters more to MiM than the eradication of porn. They are literally addicted to its eradication. They are in fact anti-porn addicts, which studies have proven is caused by obsessive compulsive lying that stimulates neural transmitters in the brain, resulting in an inability to distinguish reality from a baloney sandwich.
It's refreshing to see a company like Groupon stand up to bullies like MiM. Hopefully, they will stand their ground. Supporters of Kink.com can always express their support of freedom of sexual speech by buying something on the Groupon site, maybe the tour, and then getting a membership to Kink.com.
