Madame President: Kayden Kross on the Appeal of Sugar Dating

LAS VEGAS—One of the more intriguing bits of news that emerged during the AVN Adult Entertainment Expo came on January 23, when Kayden Kross was named as president of ArrangementFinders.com, a sugar-dating site for young-skewing affluent businesspeople and the partners who would like to meet them.

AVN got a chance to sit down with Kross while she was at AEE, where ArrangementFinders was exhibiting, and she talked about her vision for the company.

"The site attracts the 29- to 45-year-old man who is just coming into his own, career-wise," Kross told AVN. "A lot of techies, guys like that, who have a lot of money and not a lot of dating experience, and they're ready to get out there and have fun. They're not looking to get married; they're looking to have a good time with a girl who has those same things in mind."

ArrangementFinders.com launched in 2009 and currently has 3.6 million members, Kross said, "and it's growing at 3,000 a day, at a ratio of four women to one man, which makes it attractive for men."

Aside from dating, the site offers mentoring and business opportunities for the not-yet-connected client.

"On the female side, we have a lot of join-ups from college-age girls and girls just beginning their careers who want to network and have a mentor of sorts," Kross said. "And not live on ramen, which is pretty gross and high in sodium."

ArrangementFinders.com is meeting a need in the marketplace not met by other dating sites, according to Kross. "We're stealing a lot of the more traditional dating site ground, like the Match.com type. You have those younger people who are going there because they think it's the site for online dating, but that's where you go if you're looking to get married. A lot of people aren't looking to get married. They're looking for a relationship that suits them now.

"A woman looking at a sugar-dating site is not the same woman who is looking to marry someone her own age or her college sweetheart," Kross pointed out. "She's going to be ambitious, she's going to be looking long term. Mentoring is built into that. She's going to be looking to date somebody in a field she's had her eye on anyway. The mentoring and networking aspects are built in to the entire thing. That's an attractive part of it."

"The other attractive part is the lifestyle you would not lead otherwise."

Kross got involved with the site because she had known one of the partners for a long time and approached him about doing a viral video to promote the site. Kross wrote, produced, and starred in the promotional video, which can be seen on YouTube under the slightly-censored title "Blow Jobs are F*ing Great." Now Kross is the president and has "an equity stake in the company."

"We got talking about the ArrangementFinders.com booth and ways to promote, and I wound up writing and producing the video for the site," Kross said. "It was very successful. It got a lot of views and got picked up on a lot of sites. That showballed into bigger and longer-term conversations, and here we are today."

Plans for ArrangementFinders.com include Kross producing and starring in new television ads ("I'm going to be filming a lot of commercials. I'm going to be the face of the operation.") and opening an in-person office in Beverly Hills, with Kross as the personal matchmaker, in the next few months. "I'm going to have a large mahogany desk. You come in, you sit down, you tell me what you're looking for, I vet the women who are looking for similar things, and off they go into the sunset. It's just a matter of finding office space and a large mahogany desk. There's no problem finding office space in Beverly Hills. Or mahogany desks.

"It's going to be cool. I'm very excited."
