CHATSWORTH, Calif. -
Shane's World Studios and Lightspeed
Media Corporation have entered into a deal under which
Shane's World will serve as the exclusive brick-and-mortar
distribution agent for Lightspeed DVDs.
"I am very excited to expand the Lightspeed brand even
further with the
distribution capabilities Shane's World brings to the
table," said Lightspeed owner Steve Lightspeed. "Bringing
'YNOT Bob' [Rice] on board was the first step, and now with
his ideas and business savvy we have started a new growth era
for our company. The Shane's World deal is a fantastic way to
start the next phase of our company's evolution."
Lightspeed Media, which has been credited with popularizing the teen solo-girl niche online, has created a number of DVD compilations available through its websites. The deal with Shane's World marks the beginning of what the companies hope will be a march to prominence in the brick-and-mortar realm, as well.
"Shane's World is actually going to go to their buyers and educate them about the brand, which is very important since the DVD market and the Internet market are two different things," according to Rice, Lightspeed's director of sales and marketing.
The first line to come from Lightspeed Media will be called Lightspeed Sorority and will feature some of the most popular scenes from the company's stable of exclusive models. The line will focus on solo-masturbation and girl-on-girl content. Shane's World initially plans to release a new title from Lightspeed every other month. "We are very enthusiastic to be representing Lightspeed Media for the retail marketplace," said Shane's World owner Jennie Grant. "They are the strongest amateur brand around. Their movies give you this incredibly intimate glimpse into the life of these college girls and are such a complement to our stable of reality titles. [The distribution deal] was a perfect fit."
Lightspeed's most popular models—including Tawnee Stone, Jordan Capri, and Taylor Little—consistently rank among the top 100 in Internet searches each year, Lightspeed said.
