L.A. Mayor Honors ASACP for 'RTA' Website Label

LOS ANGELES - Los Angeles Mayor Antonio R. Villaraigosa presented the Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection a Certificate of Recognition for its "Restricted To Adults" website label.

The certificate commends the ASACP for its efforts to help parents prevent their children from viewing age-inappropriate content.

"Your contributions are an asset to the city of Los Angeles," the certificate reads.

"It's very validating to receive this type of recognition for RTA," said Joan Irvine, CEO of the ASACP. "We are honored to receive this award from Mayor Villaraigosa, and we are grateful to everyone who has made this possible by choosing to protect children by labeling with RTA."

The certificate was issued to commemorate the ASACP's having been named to the 2008 Associations Advance America Honor Roll, a national awards competition sponsored by the American Society of Association Executives and the Center for Association Leadership. The ASACP was one of only 15 organizations to receive the distinction.
